Butter chicken



Ingredients

For the Chicken Marinade

  • 1 cup plain yogurt or Greek yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger

  • 2 teaspoons finely minced garlic

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast , cut into small bite-sized pieces


For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 large sweet onion , finely diced

  • 2 teaspoons grated ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic , finely minced

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • 8 ounce can tomato sauce (unseasoned)

  • 1 1/4 cup coconut milk


Instruction :


Mix all marinate ingredients in a bowl and let marinate for about 1 hour. Then cook in a big pan in small batches. then remove chicken from pan and set side. In the same pan that you cooked the chicken add butter, onion and garlic. Saute until soft, then add spices. When spices incorporate add tomato sauce and coconut milk. when combined incorporate chicken and cook until chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is thick.


Then serve with basmati rice and naan bread!
